Breakfast Time // Apple & Honey Pikelets Recipe...

The other morning I thought it would be nice to pimp up breakfast for the kids. Ok - maybe for me too! Something a little more exciting than cereal, scrambled eggs or for me... a simple cup of tea. What could be a better treat than pikelets. Usually they're made with sugar but a sugar high that early in the morning? - NO thanks. So instead I went with honey and added a little bit of fruit to the mix. My kids love their fruit, so to them they seemed more "yummy"! Most of what you'll need will be in the pantry/fridge.
You will need:
3/4 cup s/raising flour 1/2 cup crushed tinned apples 2 teaspoon honey 3/4 cup butter milk butter for cooking and of course a frypan to cook them in.
(optional to serve) Strawberries, honey, whipped cream
What to do:
In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, apples, honey and butter milk. Mix well, either by hand or with an electric mixer, until all the ingredients are well combined. The mixture will be fairly lumpy because of the apples.  Heat your fr…

Weaving Wednesday // Beach Inspirations....

Another week, another weave! Taking inspiration from my beautiful surroundings 'The Beach'. I wanted this weave to reflect a painting (in a way). From the driftwood hanger to the deep blues - symbolising the depths of the ocean. The fluffy puffs of the finest roving merino wool represents the whitewash of the waves crashing on to the shore. Let's not forget the tiny seashells hidden on the sand.

Fun With Pom Poms // Lets Make A Cactus...

Seriously! How much fun are pom-poms? It doesn't matter if you're five or eighty two it's something you can make and once you've mastered the basic pom-pom you'll be able to knock this bad boy up in no time.

You're going to need a few things...
One medium sized green pom-pomOne small sized pink pom-pomOne medium sized brown pom-pomScissors Glue (I highly recommend using a hot glue gun, much easier and less messy).Cardboard egg container (to use one cup section as the cacti's little pot). Some Paint (I used gold spray paint).

Firstly cut and trim one egg cup section from the carton. Paint your egg cup container 'Pot' and leave it to dry. It should be dry by the time you have finished cutting your cactus into shape.

Make your three different pom-poms in the colours and sizes needed. (Make sure you leave the tied pom-pom strings through the centre of the pom-poms long, you'll need these to tie your pink and green pom-poms together).

The trickiest part …
