Buttery Shortbread Topped With Jam Recipe...

This easy shortbread recipe was past down to me. With just four ingredients and 20 minutes you'll have these perfectly sweet little buttery biscuits. A great quick dessert to take to any special occasion.

You will need;
250g Butter 2 Tbsp Castor Sugar 2 Cups Plain Flour (Strawberry Jam or Lemon Curd to serve) Mini cupcake patty cases
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees (fan-forced).
Using an electric mixer beat butter and sugar until creamy and pale.  Fold in one cup of flour, mix, then add the remaining cup of flour. On a baking tray layout your patty cases, then spoon a teaspoon size ball (not rolled), into  each patty case.  Bake for 20mins (or until very lightly browned).
Allow to cool then top with jam and dust with icing sugar (optional) to serve.

At this time of year, we are thinking & preparing for Christmas, so I thought I would show you how to Crochet a Christmas Wreath! I made one for Pinch Me Beautiful last year, & have this year been talked into making a few for customers.
They are a lot of fun to make, fabulous stash busters, & you can let your creativity loose! I get inspiration & some patterns from Lucy at Attic24. Lucy has done some beautiful wreaths & she provides excellent tutorials for every aspect of the design.

Weaving // Workshop Snapshots...

Ask me eight months ago if I'd be hosting a weaving workshop, and I would have probably just laughed at you and called you nuts. But I did, on Sunday that just past and it was fabulously fun. I was a little nervous to start but once everyone got going and into a rhythm, it was a very relaxed and successful day.
As you can see from the photos above everyone was able to complete their very own hand-woven wall hanging masterpiece. Each one was unique and beautiful, there was feathers, merino roving, colours galore. So much creativity, and it was so pleasing to see all the lovely end results.

Teaching the workshop was a wonderful experience and I look forward to hosting more with groups or 1-2 people. Contact me via email pinchmebeautiful@gmail.com if you would like to learn this great craft.

Coconut Pikelets Recipe...

Alba likes to challenge me "Mum, Mum make me something special for breakfast". Breakfast seems to be her favourite meal of the day. So today's menu Coconut Pikelets with fresh strawberry jam from the local farmers market.

You will need;
1 cup s/r flour 1/2 cup shredded coconut  3/4 cup milk 1 egg 1 Tbsp caster sugar 1 Tbsp chia seed 1 tsp coconut oil (Coconut oil for cooking)

Mix flour, sugar, shredded coconut & chia seeds in large bowl. Whisk egg, milk, coconut oil in separate bowl then add to dry ingredients and whisk until combined. Add small  spoonful amounts to pan, cook 2-3mins each side (or until lightly browned on both sides). Yum yum

My Girl // Turns FIVE...

My baby is FIVE. I took these photographs in the glow of the morning sunshine in our lounge room, a few days before her birthday. I wanted to make sure I captured her just before she turned into a five year old.
Every Beautiful and Cheeky part of her.
Happy Birthday my love.

Party Time // DIY Disco Party Favors...

Can you believe how big the number FIVE is?
This week my little lady will finally be FIVE! This is a massive age for her. She has been longing to be here since clicking over to four. I hadn't given it much hoo-har but the closer FIVE came around, the more I realised that FIVE is a massive age - FIVE days at school next year, it's the beginning of 12 years of school (for most), it's full on kid-stage, no daytime play-mate at home for Axel, no conversations about 'why',  to fill my day with anymore (well until Axel's a little older), ... FIVE is BIG!
So to kick off such a year, Alba's party theme of choice is a 'Disco Party'. This got me thinking of lots of fabulous little crafty ideas. Mostly the party favors (or call them 'Lolly Bags').
So here's what I came up with...

Let me show you how to create this fancy "Mirror Ball - Disco Party Favor" that your guests would just love as a small Thank you.
